Cocktails with Orange Juice and Vodka

Perhaps the most common alcoholic ingredient for cocktails with Orange Juice is Vodka.

I think this is most likely because Vodka will mix with anything.

Anyway, out of our selection of cocktails with Orange Juice, we have 15 cocktails in which Vodka is the primary source of booze.

1: Screwdriver

Ingredients

Recipe

The Screwdriver is one of the most iconic cocktails of all time, dating back to the 1930s. I must admit, this cocktail was a particular favourite of mine in my early twenties (from the very little I remember of those days haha).

2: Harvey Wallbanger

Ingredients

Recipe

The Harvey Wallbanger cocktail was a 1950s update to the Screwdriver, adding the sweet herbal liqueur Galliano to the mix.

3. Sex on the Beach

Ingredients

Recipe

Sex on the Beach is a cocktail of the 80s, thought to have been invented in Florida and coinciding with the introduction of Peach Schnapps. Delicious, refreshing and a perfect cocktail to enjoy on hot summer days.

4. The Madras

Ingredients

Recipe

The Madras is basically the Sex on the Beach cocktail, just without the Peach Schnapps and is perfect if you don’t like (or don’t have) Peach Schnapp but want a fruity and refreshing cocktail.

5. The Mandarin Madras

Ingredients

Recipe

If you have a Cocktail Shaker:

If you don’t have a Cocktail Shaker:

Adding a flavoured Vodka to compliment the already delicious Madras cocktail, takes this taste sensation to a whole new level.

6. Orange Martini

A tasty update to an ultimate classic, the Orange Martini is perfect for classy cocktail parties all year round.

This refreshing and tangy really hits the spot. Perfect for summer drinking and barbeques.

9. Raspberry Lift off

A classy cocktail that will work well at any cocktail party; particularly summer cocktail parties as it’s both light and refreshing.

10. Mango Breeze

Ingredients

Recipe

If you have a Cocktail Shaker:

If you don’t have a cocktail shaker:

This quick and easy Vodka cocktail is as refreshing as it is delicious. A nice summer tipple that is entirely too drinkable.

11. Orange Crush

Ingredients

Recipe

If you have a Cocktail Shaker:

If you don’t have a cocktail shaker:

A fantastic blast of orange, the Orange Blast combines the slightly tart Mandarin with Triple Sec and Orange Juice to provide a delightful little cocktail for all occasions.

12. Sunflower Highball

Ingredients

Recipe

Much like the Harvey Wallbanger, the key to this cocktail is mixing the Vodka and Orange Juice before pouring in the Vanilla Liqueur to rest on top. This ensures you get the kick of vanilla flavour with every sip and essentially make the cocktail.

Next, let’s move onto Tequila!

Cocktails with Orange Juice and Tequila

The next couple of Cocktails with Orange Juice use Tequila as the alcoholic base and are completely delicious.

 13. Tequila Sunrise

Ingredients

Recipe

An absolute classic cocktail that originates from the 1970s (after being inspired by a cocktail created in the 1930s) that produces a beautiful Sunrise look that’s as delicious to drink as it is to look at.

14. Orange Margarita

Ingredients

Recipe

For a classic like the Margarita, a Cocktail Shaker and a Margarita Glass is an absolute must for the ultimate effect – just stirring this cocktail isn’t going to do it justice.

This is how you make it.

This orangey update to a delicious classic hits the spot exactly as you’d expect it to. Is it better than the original? Maybe you’d better make it and try for yourselves!

Cocktails with Orange Juice and Rum

You would think that Orange Juice and Rum isn’t a combination that worked well together, but let me tell you: it does. It works really well.

What kind of rum? All kinds of rum, that’s what kind of rum.

Let’s take a look at our list of cocktails with orange juice and rum!

15. President

Ingredients

Recipe

The President is basically the Tequila Sunrise of the White Rum world. A twist on the classic that adds a slightly different flavour that’s tasty and a delight to look at.

 16. White Madras

Ingredients

Recipe

If you have a Cocktail Shaker:

If you don’t have a Cocktail Shaker:

If you love the taste of White Rum, the White Madras takes the original cocktail to another level.

17. Barbadoes Sunrise

Ingredients

Recipe

A fresh take on the Tequila Sunrise, but with a dash more colour and a completely different alcohol base. The addition of Blue Curacao, as you might expect, adds blue to the mix (as well as a higher alcohol count) and makes the cocktail a sight to behold.

BONUS: What is Blue Curacao? Find out more about Blue Curacao in our ultimate guide.

18. Scorpion

Ingredients

Recipe

If you have a Cocktail Shaker:

If you don’t have a Cocktail Shaker:

As its name suggests, this cocktail has something of a sting to its tail. Two different kinds of Rum, Brandy AND Triple Sec? Yeah, too many of these and you’re gonna know about it in the morning, but the truth of it is, it’s as delicious as it is potent.

Not a cocktail to have if it’s a school night!

19. The Roosevelt

Ingredients

Recipe

Cocktail Shaker:

Without a Cocktail Shaker:

The Roosevelt is a classy cocktail that’s made up of three ingredients you might not think work well together, but let me assure you: they do. Even when mixing this bad boy, I wasn’t sure all that sure but after tasting it…oh boy was I sure then!

20. Robson

Ingredients

Recipe

Cocktail Shaker:

Without a Cocktail Shaker:

This classy cocktail ticks all the boxes: it’s classy, it packs a tonne of flavour and the inclusion of Grenadine also makes it look the part. Perfect for any occasion.

21. Bolo

Ingredients

Recipe

Cocktail Shaker:

No Cocktail Shaker:

The Bolo cocktail is has a little bit of everything. The subtle kick of White Rum, the tang of Lemon Juice and the combined sweetness of Orange Juice and Simple Syrup. A really delicious cocktail that’s guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser.

22. Miami Spice

Ingredients

Recipe

Cocktail Shaker:

Without Cocktail Shaker:

The lovely Spiced Rum, combined with the sweetness of Orange and Papaya Juice and the tartness of Lime is absolutely fantastic – a dash of Triple Sec helps ruffle the concoction up a little with extra alcohol content but finishes this cocktail off very nicely indeed.

23. A Day at the Beach

Ingredients

Recipe

Cocktail Shaker:

Without Cocktail Shaker:

One for Coconut Rum fans (like me!) here. This cocktail has a fantastic luxurious flavour to it; the Amaretto and the Coconut work well together but is brought to life a little by the sweetness of the Orange Juice. The Grenadine is a nice finishing touch that puts the cocktail on a different level, visually.

Cocktails with Orange Juice and Champagne

Cocktails with Orange Juice and Champagne in them are classy classics and work well for an opulent celebration or even just an extravagant brunch.

24: Bucks Fizz

Ingredients

Recipe

The Bucks Fizz was created in The Buck’s Club in London and was genuinely invented as an excuse to start drinking early (best cocktail origin ever).

Today, the Buck Fizz’s is served at important events (most commonly weddings) as less alcoholic alternatively to straight-up Champagne. In the UK, it’s a Christmas morning tradition to have a Buck Fizz somewhere in between breakfast and opening presents.

25. Mimosa

Ingredients

Recipe

The Mimosa is basically a Buck’s Fizz with extra booze and extra orange flavour – what’s not to like? The origins of the cocktail are varied, with some stating the cocktail was invented 4 years after Buck’s Fizz in Paris, with other sources suggesting it was invented around the 1900s somewhere in the Mediterranian.

Whatever its origin, this cocktail is absolutely delicious and perfect for events like weddings or boozing brunches.

Cocktails with Orange Juice and Gin

Gin is quickly becoming one of the most popular spirits in the UK and there are so many types and flavours of gin available now, we’re spoilt for choice.

Whilst not the first spirit you may think about when making a cocktail with Orange Juice, the flavours do work well together – especially when you add more booze to the mix.

Let’s take a look at these tasty (and incredibly boozy) Gin and Orange Juice cocktails.

26. Bermuda

Ingredients

Recipe

With Cocktail Shaker:

Without:

This boozy taste sensation combines beautiful peach and orange flavours together to make an elegant cocktail that also looks fantastic.

27. Monkey Gland

Ingredients

Recipe

With Cocktail Shaker:

Without Shaker:

This cocktail has balls, but don’t let the bad pun on the highly dubious name fool you: this cocktail really does pack a punch.

Anything that contains any amount of Absinthe is bound to!

On the face of it, you wouldn’t think these ingredients would play well together, but they absolutely do; they play very well together.

28. Desert Cooler

Ingredients

Recipe

With Cocktail Shaker:

Without:

Cherries, orange and ginger all in one cocktail? You can sign me right up to that! A drink you can enjoy all year round, I particularly love breaking this cocktail out at Christmas time. It’s perfect for when the mood changes from Buck’s Fizz to something a little more serious and easy to drink with my Christmas Pudding.

Cocktails with Orange Juice and Whiskey

Orange Juice and Whiskey aren’t ingredients you would expect to roll off the tongue when discussing Cocktails, but if the mix is right you’re on to a winner.

We have two Cocktails with Orange Juice and Whiskey on our list today and they’re fantastic – check them out.

29. Kentucky Sunrise

Ingredients

Recipe

With Cocktail Shaker:

Without:

A delicious Kentucky kick to the Tequila Sunrise classic, this beverage blends flavours not often put together into something magical. If you’re a Bourbon lover like me, this is a fantastic addition to any Cocktail list or menu.

30. Ward 8

Ingredients

Recipe

With Cocktail Shaker:

Without:

Much like the Kentucky Sunrise, the Ward 8 mixes an interesting combination of flavours that really shouldn’t work together, but absolutely do. If you like Whiskey, this is a cocktail you have to try.

Cocktails with Orange Juice and Other Booze

Now for the cocktails that don’t quite fit into the other sections of our list. This section contains cocktails that are particularly boozy and contain three different types of alcohol as well as cocktails that contain alcohol that only really feature once in the list.

It’s a mixed bag, but it’s an incredibly delicious mixed bag.

Let’s get into the list.

31. YellowHammer

Ingredients

Recipe

With Cocktail Shaker:

Without:

With the colour of the cocktail and the fact that it’s going to get you absolutely smashed, YellowHammer is probably one of the most apt names for this cocktail you’re going to get.

This cocktail is as delicious as it is deadly and too many of these in one sitting could make for a very powerful hangover, but it could very well be worth it.

32. Alabama Slammer

Ingredients

Recipe

With Cocktail Shaker:

Without:

Much like the YellowHammer, this cocktail has a very apt name. Because the amount of alcohol in it will absolutely slam you – all over the place.

This is obviously a strong cocktail, but it’s also a great combination of flavours that will make the thing far too drinkable.

33. Sloe Comfortable Screw

Ingredients

Recipe

With Cocktail Shaker:

Without:

The name of this cocktail is deceptively clever:

Brilliant name aside, this combines three different types of booze that you wouldn’t necessarily think would work, but once you top up the concoction with orange Juice, that’s when the magic begins.

Delicious.

34. Valencia

Ingredients

Recipe

With Cocktail Shaker:

Without:

There aren’t enough cocktails out there that use Apricot Brandy. It’s delicious. Then, when you mix it with GIn, Orange Juice and just a dash of Lemon Juice, the flavours really come alive.

35. Dracula’s Bite

Ingredients

Recipe

With Cocktail Shaker:

Without:

This is a cocktail that comes at you from nowhere.

The Gin and Campari are a powerful duo, the latter is well known to mix well with Citrus flavours, so the addition of Orange Juice add to the flavour well.

Then the Blackcurrant Liqueur hits.

Blackcurrant Liqueur s a great way to add a little colour to the cocktail as it’s very definitely alcoholic (let me assure you!) but also brings a lot of flavour to the party. Blackcurrant is particularly flavoursome and, in my opinion, takes the cocktail to a whole new level. Fantastic.

Bonus: What is Campari? Find out more about Campari in our ultimate guide.

 36. Fuzzy Navel

Ingredients

Recipe

With Cocktail Shaker:

Without:

Ah, a drink from my youth – and what a drink it is! A great cocktail if you like super-sweet drinks that combines peach and orange flavours to create a beverage fantastically drinkable.

Recommended – especially if you’re in the mood for something super quick and easy.

37. Bocci Ball

Ingredients

Recipe

With Cocktail Shaker:

Without:

Amaretto and Orange Juice are exactly two ingredients you would think work well together, but they do – they work very well together. The flavours just click right into place and create something that could only be described as decadent.
